Community Service

REALTORS give back to the community through financial support to the Chatham Arts Council and Kidzu Museum.

The Greater Chapel Hill Association of REALTORS is proud to give back to the communities we serve.

Financial assistance is given to residents in need after house fires, floods, or other natural disasters through a partnership created with the local Red Cross.

REALTORS donate at least one day a year to assist in the building of a local Habitat for Humanity house.  This year’s home was in Hillsborough.

Third Annual Fix-A-Home Project a huge success!

The Association’s biggest undertaking is the local Fix-A-Home program – our very own mini-home makeover in a day! Homeowners are selected based on financial needs or their physical limitations.

In 2009 we partnered with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools to identify potential candidates.  This year's recipient is Ms. Kaye Martinez, a Library Assistant at Culbreth Middle School.

Through contributions from local businesses, we were able to install new flooring, paint, repair steps, replace screen doors, plant trees and shrubs for shade, and so much more to improve the home of Ms. Martinez.

A lot of "behind-the-scenes" time and energy went into making this two-day event a success. REALTORS believe in giving back to the communities they serve, and Fix-A-Home is just one of the ways we show our appreciation to the outstanding citizens who truly make this area, "the Southern Part of Heaven."
