- March 11 (THURSDAY) Member Meeting at Governors Club
Please join us on Thursday March 11th to hear Alice Martin, the Vice President of Leadership Development at the National Association of REALTORS, speak regarding the current status of NAR programs and the "Best Kept Secrets of NAR". You will want the competitive edge that knowing these "secrets" will give you in dealing with your clients! We are so lucky to have Alice Martin joining us all the way from Chicago. In her role with NAR, she works with state and local REALTOR associations on leadership training, planning and shares updates on NAR programs, business issues and trends.
Lunch will be at 11:30 and the program will begin promptly at 12:00.
- March 18 - CE Elective Class
House Pricing and Market Trends Analysis taught by Stacey Anfindsen on Thursday March 18th from 9 to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm. 2009 was a challenging year in the RTP market. This class will focus on closing, listing, pending and showing data during the year and the decade within Orange and Chatham counties. Stacey will provide his insight as to what might happen during 2010. The cost for the class is $60 for GCHAR members and $65 for non-members. It will be important that all members who are able to bring a laptop to the class do so. *** These classes will need to meet the full registration capacity of 25 in order to be held. Any registration of less than 25 persons will result in cancellation (as required by the instructor).
Maine Shafer is back to present two sessions of informative tax information for REALTORS. Just in time for the tax season! Sessions will be held from 11 to 1 and 3 to 5 at the Association Offices. This program sold out quickly when it was offered last fall so if you are interested please sign up today.

On March 27 a fun run/walk will be held at Winmore subdivision in order to benefit The Childhood Trust (serving the needs of traumatized children in our community). The event is being sponsored by Bagwell Holt Smith Jones & Crowson PA, The Greater Chapel Hill Association of REALTORS, Pam Herndon of State Farm Insurance, Harrington Bank and Chapel Hill Magazine. - April 14 Mandatory Update CE Class
The 2009-10 Update Course will cover the Revised Offer to Purchase and Contract, Material Facts and what is required for current and active licensees. The class will be taught by Debbie Long and will be from 12:30pm to 4:30pm at the Association Offices. This class is FREE to all GCHAR members and $55 to all non-members.
- April 23rd BIC Annual Review
Virtually all brokers-in-charge (BIC) who wish to maintain their BIC status must take this course (plus the Mandatory Update)every year. This class will be held at the GCHAR offices from 8:30am to 12:30pm and will be taught by Debbie Long. The cost for members is $50 and for non-members $55.
