AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Facilitate fair and affordable housing for all. Work with other area groups seeking to do the same and act as liaison to those groups for the Association.
AWARDS
Monitor Realtor activities throughout the year that merit consideration for REALTOR® of the Year or Citizen of the Year and make recommendation to the Association annually.
BYLAWS
Review Association bylaws regularly for clarity, enforceability, and practicality. Propose changes as needed, as directed by the Directors or recommended by NAR and NCAR.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Help select, coordinate and promote the Community Service Project for the Association.
EDUCATION
Promote educational activities for the membership and organize the best obtainable programs of interest and value to members at monthly membership meetings in conjunction with the Social Committee.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
Implement VAMA. Respond to community inquiries relative to equal opportunity. Represent the Association on this issue.
FINANCE
Meet quarterly to oversee Association finances for recommendations to the Directors. Work with the committee to achieve Association goals. Conduct budget planning for the upcoming year.
GRIEVANCE
Investigate complaints submitted to the Association and determine whether or not they warrant further consideration by a Hearing Panel of the Professional Standards Committee. Appointment to this Committee is for 3 years and attendance at one NCAR Professional Standards training seminar for each year of participation on the Committee is essential. Appointments contingent on approval by Directors.
POLITICAL AFFAIRS
Work on community legislative matters as liaison with local government, community groups, NCAR, and NAR.
MEMBER SPONSORS
Obtain sponsors for member meetings and social activities
MEMBERSHIP
Assure growth through development of recruitment and retention programs, to ascertain that only qualified persons are recommended for acceptance into the Association, to promote goodwill throughout the membership, and conduct the orientation program for new members quarterly.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Assure member's adherence to high ethical standards, arbitrate disputes between members and/or members and the public, and investigate complaints of alleged violations of the Code of Ethics. Appointments are for 3 years, and attendance is required at one NCAR Professional Standards training seminar for each year of participation on the Committee. Consideration is given to a member's real estate experience, Association service, and judicial temperament and competence. Appointments contingent on approval of Directors.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Develop and supervise community and profession-related projects and elicit newspaper, radio, and TV publicity which will reinforce public awareness and help create the best possible image of the Association and its members.
RPAC
Launch campaigns for member contributions to the REALTORS' Political Action Committee with the goal of meeting the challenge set by NCAR; educate members on the purpose and benefits of RPAC; and report to the members annually on how RPAC money has been spent.
SOCIAL
Organize all social activities for the membership, including the installation banquet, holiday party, and nine other general membership meetings/luncheons and to negotiate and obtain facilities for such. Coordinate with the Education Committee for monthly educational activities at luncheons.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
Function as a coordinating committee for the Association to anticipate future needs and plan accordingly. Develop an understanding of the specific problems and needs of the organization, recommendation to be taken, and work toward instituting the approved plans.
